Cadet Parent Responsibilities

Welcome to the  Cadet section of the BSC Website. Our cadet section looks after the needs of our younger sailors aged 8 to 18 years. Our cadets are active throughout the year at BSC, we have a full program of racing, training and social events. The highlight of the year is our Cadet Week which takes place in the first or second week of the school holidays and has a full program of sailing and social events. 

The Cadet section is run by the Hon. Cadet Skipper, Jonny Garlick and a Cadet Management Committee which includes input from the Cadets themselves. A Cadet Commodore, Vice Commodore and Committee are elected by the other Cadets annually.

Only Cadet Members may be registered for events

  • IOCA training, 1st - 2nd March
  • Frostbite regatta, 12th - 14th April
  • Easter family supper and disco 12th April
  • Training Weekend 26th - 27th April
  • Training weekend 10th-11th May
  • Training weekend 14th-15th June
  • CADET WEEK 5th to 10th August
  • Reid Scott cadet & junior race series 29th to 31st August
  • Oppie Open 6th - 7th September
  • End of Season race series 25th - 27th October
  • Cadet laying up party 8th November

Events are normally open for booking around 6 weeks in advance. Emails are sent to cadet parents/guardians when registration is open.

Cadet Week 2026:  25th July to 2nd August

Cadet Week 2025 is Tuesday 5th August to Sunday 10th August
